Hosted on catalyst cloud
Cloud does not support nested virtualisation but we have a patch which has been reviewed and is pending deployment

Ideas:

Docker / K8s

Need challenges available as docker images.
Can scale challenge VM's with docker compose or maybe docker swarm

Large Cloud instance with many VMs running inside large host

Need to convert challenge VM (eg vulnhub virtualbox appliance) to cloud image / cloud volume.
Can't keep large VM running full time
Need to resize before and after meetup then scale up/down # of VM's running inside
Cloud does not yet support Nested virtualization

Many individual cloud VM's (1 per person)

Need to convert challenge VM (eg vulnhub virtualbox appliance) to cloud image / cloud volume.
Can use Heat template to scale number of VMs
Can write a tiny flask app to provision/assign unique IP address.
