FHIR version in the canonical URL

Should we add /r4/ after the /fhir/ part of the canonical URL? What are the pros and cons for this? I've seen urls with and without the version so not quite sure what the best idea is.

The profiling academy on Simplifier doesn't mention this and the examples lack the version.

I think the common consensus is to not have the fhir version in the canonical. But there are pros and cons to both approaches. The official extensions from HL7 don't use fhir version in canonical URL's. They do change the resolveable URL though:
