• Draft a protocol with a core set of required fields using a framework like JSONSchema or TypeSpec
• Create a format that allows implementations to specify custom fields not included in the core protocol
• Publish this draft protocol on the core site
• Create documentation explaining how to create a spec for a given implementation of this protocol
• Create an example implementation spec for the SimplerGrants API
