I was hoping to do this because I'm having installation issues with healpy that I don't have with astropy-healpix. That said, this turns out to be more complicated that I had hoped, because of the A_lm stuff which is in healpy but not astropy-healpix. Unless we want to deprecate that functionality (or just remove healpy as a dependency for installation but then require it for that functionality) then I think this effort is stuck.
