xbox Right Analogue Stick issue

Hey! Would love to play this mod but I have a problem:
I play on an old Oculus CV1. So far so good, Mod works great. Exept:
Using my xbox controller (no fancy hand nuckles included) i am unable to rotate my character.
The strangest part is, when i look at myself through a portal, my "mirror image" DOES rotate with the right analogue stick, quite erratcly though. But my actual viewpoint remains unchangeable...

pls help?
