It'd be nice to be able to block certain squares from appearing, such as for rules that are not likely to come up in a particular setting.

Possibly this means being able to view the entire full set of available squares, and then marking them as 'blocked'.

To view the entire list of squares, thinking about a button to reveal all, which creates the squares in a cascading visual effect in their current grid configuration, just adding rows. Squares will then have their fields set to contentEditable, along with revealing a few option buttons such as 'block'.
