Problem

We intend to keep the unstyled, USWDS-based SERP.

The styled SERPs are currently kinda backed by a custom web page builder. We'd like, in the transition, to eliminate the styled SERP, and instead ask partners to template their own search page, on their own site, and use a Javascript query to get and display search results.

Our question is this: must we provide interim styled SERP pages (that will not be editable by our partners) for a transition period, or, what capacity do our partners have to integrate a Javascript solution into a template of their own over the coming 9 months?

How did we discover this problem?

We are trying to minimize the number of tasks in our roadmap as we move to production. If we can eliminate the need to migrate static assets from the old system to the new, then eliminating the transitional, statically-styled SERPs helps us move faster because we are eliminating a whole pile of work.

Job Story(s)

When I am planning work as a product owner, I want to know what serves our users best, so I can plan work accordingly.
