I know, this is all about emoticons and not emojis. But I noticed, that the built-in emoji stuff is lacking some emojis (dessalines/thumb-key#1199 (comment)), so I wonder if there are any plans to also include a emoji picker?

Hmm I'm not sure about this. As you mentioned, this is all about emoticons (and I have a certain disdain towards emojis).
I'm not even sure how to start with emojis, they're a different beast. I might look into it later but its not gonna be of high priority. Anyway for now I'll keep this open.
