Ckeditor 5 ? #242
Comments
Furthermore CKEditor 4 does not support nonce tags and uses a lot of onclick, onfocus etc. JS functions inline |
Hello, is there a reason why the bundle does not use Ckeditor 5? |
Check the last commit date, this bundle is close to death. |

Any plan to move to CKEditor 5? |
To those already using CKEditor 5 and symfony: Have your done anything special? Are you using the raw editor without any special bundle glueing it? We are going to start a new project with symfony 7.0 (to be released in the next days) and CKEditor, but I wouldn't want to "go back in time". I want the latest things in it. I wonder if anyone is using CKEditor 5 successfully in symfony projects and if there's zero-glue or any other bundle (custom or public) that you guys are using. |
Hi there, any update on this subject? |
Check this, I've not tried this yet. |
Hello there! I'm not sure an upgrade to CKEditor 5 is a good option considering the license change and it's not free anymore. |
Where did you find this information? The CKEditor 5 still free, the code is open source: https://github.com/ckeditor/ckeditor5 And here: https://ckeditor.com/pricing we have this: CKEditor had always a premium features |
You can find here a note about how it is free for open-source projects: https://ckeditor.com/legal/ckeditor-oss-license/ The CKEditor is for any project that is not open source (IIUC), the license is available here: https://ckeditor.com/pricing/ |
Feature Request
Hello guys, I was wondering if you planned to move to CKEditor 5 in a next release.
Getting support on some CKEditor 4 plugins is becoming harder every day, this is my main motivation for asking this.
Thanks for your insights!
