Bug Summary

Hello there. I would like to start this off by saying that this particular issue was reported in February of last year. However, no one seemed to know what the issue even was or what might be causing it. The bug ticket was #911 and was titled: "does not open". Apparently, it was theorized that it may be a low CPU issue, but nothing concrete.

It is as the title suggests and as the previous bug report says: After the installation is complete (x64 version, x32 version, portable version, older versions, it doesn't matter) the browser just would not open.

To quote @coccobellof5 when they first reported the issue:
"It doesn't work... in any way.
I also tried the beta version and some older versions, but it doesn't open.
I press on the executable and it doesn't even appear in the taskmanager.
I tried changing the compatibility by masquerading as windows vista/7/8, but nothing."

I'm just wondering if there is any chance someone can look into this, I'm confident I'm not the only one having this issue. In the previous report alone two more people came forward with the same issue at the end of the thread. I really wanna try your browser, but for some reason, I'm unable to even open it.

Yes, my laptop is old, but I find it a little curious how despite that, I've been able to install, open, and use every major browser out in the market right now with little to no issues: (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Waterfox, Opera, Opera GX, Vivaldi, Edge, Maxthon, Arc, etc, etc...) For some reason, only Froorp doesn't work. I just want to know what makes Floorp so different.

My laptop's info: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor. Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II Dual-Core M300 2.00 GHz. RAM: 4.00 GB

Reproduction Steps

I installed the latest version. I tried to open it. Nothing happened. As I said before, it doesn't even register in the Task Manager.

Expected Behavior

For it to open, or at least give me an error of some kind about incompatibility or something, anything...

Actual Behavior

Nothing happens.

Screenshots

There's nothing for me to screenshot.

Browser Version

V11.22.0

Operating System

Windows 10 Pro

Additional Context

If anyone has any idea of what might be the problem, (or if it is indeed a CPU problem) some answers would be appreciated, if for nothing else than to lay this mystery to rest.

Floorp uses the SSE4 (not SSE4a) instruction set, but your CPU does not seem to support it.

@typeling1578 Ah. So it IS a CPU issue. Thank you for confirming. A shame. I really wanted to try the browser out.
Quick question: Is that something difficult/time-consuming to add support for? (I'm sorry, I'm not really knowledgeable about these things)

holy heck, thats a old hardware but still i am suprised it isnt supported, this is even ESR
