Working groups communicating with steering committee

The steering committee discussed today that the current model of working groups does not include any reporting back to the steering committee, making it hard to tell the difference between them working behind the scenes vs. them getting stuck waiting for something from us vs. them no longer working. We should institute some kind of regular progress report (perhaps every 6 months?) to help close the loop and keep the work moving. One way that might work there is to invite them to join a steering committee meeting, if schedules allow.

While we have not done this in the past, we plan to begin doing this going forward. We welcome feedback on the process or other ideas of how to stay in touch.
