talking with @blundar , i believe he mentioned that the goal should be to have a flat timing curve that is adjusted by the closed loop idle function. If that is correct recollection, do we need the table? should we just set a base timing in the closed loop menu?

Different kind of configuration.
For closed loop then yes, if just doing open loop then this table is 100% needed.

Consider this the base config for open loop or a feed forward when closed loop is active.
