I'd love to hear from folks that love incrementalism in teaching (I guess these might be people that like flipbookr) about the approach sketching out new functionality for courses in https://evamaerey.github.io/ggstats101/README.html

The at-first displayed code is the target API, while the at-first hidden code is the current implementation.

The plotting code actually doing the work uses an extension shorthand that's made available through statexpress (maybe the name will change to ggex because there is some functionality that can be used for Geom behaivor and maybe that will be expanded).
