combine doesn't allow character-coercible values to be passed to it
- qto_span(1) results in an error
can't pass c() values to class and id parameters
- vectors should be recycled and
  concatenated after prefixing
- callout, with_* not passing along class attribute
probably should be prefixing all imports rather than global importing them
