Bug
As others have described, I have gotten Chokistream up and running but only have a black screen with 0 FPS when I try to connect. I am running the program through the command line and saw that there was a "SocketTimeoutException", but I don't know what that means. Screenshot below:

Steps taken
I am on NTR. I tried pinging DS IP from computer with 0% packet loss, so that isn't an issue. I opened Chokistream, input my DS IP and port, selected the desired layout, and left everything else as it was. Then hit connect. Saw a new window pop up, but it is all black. Extreme log attached, error shows towards the end when I close out of the all-black Chokistream window: chokistreambug.txt

Versions/settings

  • Version: Chokistream 2.2
  • OS: Kubuntu 24.04, KDE Plasma 5.27.11, on X11
  • NTR version: 3.6
  • Device: New 2DS XL
  • I was not in any games when this issue occurred as I was setting up NTR for Chokistream.

I hope this is adequately helpful. I'm not super tech-savvy but I'd like to be able to stream my games onto a larger screen to show my partner. Thanks.

Thanks for the detailed report! This is definitely strange. It looks like we're not even attempting to connect to NTR, but somehow the heartbeats are running. I can't think of any reason this would happen, as we start the heartbeats after we initiate the connection. I'll need to see if I can reproduce this. In the meantime, I assume you're just clicking "Connect!" to connect, nothing weird?

Hello! Correct, I simply hit "Connect!" after loading NTR on my 2DSXL and the black screen pops up.
