With ece2cmor3 we will actively follow the CMOR 3.8 release, once it is released: PCMDI/cmor#730.

This with the eye on the post cmip6-cmor-tables, which seems to be covered with the newly available mip-cmor-tables which is for us related to the OptimESM work in which we aim to publish non CMIP6 data on the ESGF nodes, see the current attempt in our own forked approach: https://github.com/EC-Earth/optimesm-cmor-tables/blob/main/README-optimesm.md.
