Been trying your OS. So far, great job, thank you.
One request please. You have made the F-Droid version of SimpleGalleryPro as default, and there is no way to change to the the Proprietary Simple Gallery Pro. That version has some really cool editing features, that the F-Droid release don't have.

I uninstalled the one you bundled via adb PM command, and then tried installed the Proprietary one, but still get the error.

Could you please help with this?

Ah, OK .. hmm...
May I please request to provide this as an option within your next build to change it if a user needs to? The basic Gallery Pro has a lot of editing features missing because of the Blob.

There is no way for me to both include the F-Droid variant and also allow a user to change to version with a different signature and same package ID.

The only option would be for me to switch to their official one instead of the F-Droid signed one, but I can't do that without causing potential data loss. If the system sees key change for included app it'll clear the app data afaik. And Simple Gallery keeps things like private photos and recycle bin in its app data.

The bigger issue here is that F-Droid's builds of apps don't have an F-Droid specific pacakge ID.

I've been researching another editing program, close to FOSS, which would give me those extra features, but couldn't really find a good alternative.

Just to check in:

1. Do you have a recommendation?
   If Not:
2. Is there a way, me as a power user, could remove the version you have bundled, so I can have the other version that I mentioned above? I'm assuming the answer is no, but you might have a method.

you could use a freeware non foss one and revoke network permission

I'd suggest removing SimpleGallery altogether and replacing it with Aves. It is not available on the F-Droid repo, but is available on IzzyOnDroid (https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/deckers.thibault.aves)

The main advantage with Aves is that it supports scoped storage instead of requesting access to all media like SimpleGallery.

I am planning to remove Simple Gallery regardless due to their recent Phone shenanigans.

If Aves lands on F-Droid I'll consider it: deckerst/aves#29

If you do remove it, would that also resolve this issue? The user should be able to manually install the version they want, since there would be no pre-existing package to conflict with?
For the phone shenanigans, is it due to the plug for it they added in the About section? Or did they do something else that's not good?
