In the first instance, Simona to contact Scott, Andrea and Nick (ccing all) to arrange to learn about the dedup+merge process in the library catalogue worksflow. We will then apply this to merging records for journals and similar that are in the AWOL dataset as open access, and already in the ICS/SHL catalogue as print only.

Franziska at SHL now suggests that we should not be deduplicating records at all, but rather having separate records for print and electronic versions of journals.
Our concern therefore is to link somehow between these records, so that users of the catalogue looking at the record for a print journal can see that there is also a record for the OA version. Suggests Marc field 776 for this.
This linking is however not currently supported in the public-facing catalogue, so we will experiment with some example records in the training catalogue and ask Steve at SHL to improve display for us.
Linking will not be automatic, so linked between digital and print records will have to be made manually, by librarians (Joanna and Paul most likely).
