A process currently reports its status due to a status update (e.g. paused) or a broadcast command. However, its status is never updated to EXITED over pubsub, which can cause other objects (such as Dispatcher who keeps track of programs) to have stale statuses. However, reporting an EXIT status may be a problem if the process is using Code Engine's pubsub object, and the process is exiting because Code Engine is killed.
