Hope this is the right place to post a feature request. Apologies if not.

Would it be possible to use afconvert to convert to AAC on a MacOS, since it is installed as standard?

Deadbeef version: devel (9af8cff)
OS: macOS Sonoma 14.5

My bad, I completely forgot you can create you own presets. This is what I created.

File extension: m4a
Encoder command line: /usr/bin/afconvert -f m4af -d aac -s 3 -ue vbrq 91 %i %o
Data transfer method: Source file
Write MP4 tag

All my music is in FLAC which afconvert will accept natively so no need to use a temporary file. But if converting from a format it doesn't support just switch "Data transfer method" to "Temporary file".

Nice, thanks -- I'll make sure to make use of this. Didn't know it exists.
