Clarification on Mechanical Power? #34
Comments
using more than 2 gearboxes? I have about 16 of them hooked up right now and it works fine? can you post an example setup? you can use TOP to see how much power is generated by things. Steam Engines produce 20 power with coal and water and 40 with steam. |
Here is the streamer trying to get it to work with more than two gear boxes. I had similar issues, but obviously we were just doing something wrong. Skip to 5hrs, 41m, 40seconds into the video: |
the gearbox input face ain't facing the right way in that clip. it should've been facing downward but it was off to the side somewhere |
Gearboxes dont have an input face on all sides? Hrm, odd. |
The numbers used in recipes right now seem very arbitrary, as there seems to be no documentation on exactly how much mechanical energy the steam engine and gearboxes create. Can you give me some idea. Like, if I wanted to make a modular machine that was about 5x more "torque" (?) than the Embers Rekindled Steam Engine... what number would I use?
Also, did something happen in the last few updates that prevents using more than 2 gearboxes in a single power train? It seems like the axles no longer turn after the first two connections now.. but I'm pretty sure they used to.
Also, any further progress on fixing the issue of the Mechanical output running nonstop even after the recipe's input/processing time has been exhausted?
