When I upload an xml file through the upload_file_to_item() function, two copies of each extension are created. This behavior does not occur when I upload the same xml file through the browser GUI (only one copy of each extension is created).
I cannot upload the xml filetype to this issue, so I have saved it as a text file to attach. If you resave it as an xml file and try to upload it, I believe you will be able to duplicate the behavior.
@amsnyder it has been a few years since this post, but curious to hear if you solved this issue back then. Do you think maybe you needed to use scrape_file=False flag?
