  • OS database that is disappearing. Seeing communities that scramble to save it. But this can happen to any OS project.
  • GitHub - we all depend on this. They are hemoraging money. There’s no back up plan. They might eventually run out and not be as philanthropic as them. What would happen if they disappeared?
  • Is this more about OS in a capitalist economy? How do we do OS in this environment? How to get paid for OS?
  • How to maintain reproducibility, sustainability, etc. given the risk? The lack of openness?
  • Security is part of this. Dependency issues. Is it a real risk if something is compromised or becomes evil? How to think about that?
  • Resilience in the age of cloud services
  • Defensive dependency management - Incompatible changes to software, or if windows executible stops working, etc.
