Entity linking, Linked Open Data, Civil Registries
Learning outcomes
After watching the webinar, you will
what civil registries are and how they can be linked to create historical life courses;
know what the burgerLinker tool is and why it was created;
have passive knowledge of the workflow and individual steps required to use the burgerLinker tool
Abstract
In this webinar, Joe Raad walks you through BurgerLinker, a command line tool for linking civil registries. It allows researchers to link multiple civil records on the same person (e.g. birth, marriage and death certificates) to describe a life course. The webinar shows the entire workflow from data conversion to entity (person) linking.

Hi Richard - I've added Joe into the system now, so you can begin drafting up this resource.
As for the tags, unfortunately 'Civil Registers' is a bit too niche a tag at this point. However, I think there is a good argument for a 'Linked Open Data' tag, so I'll make a start on that one. This shouldn't delay you beginning to draft up the resource though.
Hi @rlzijdeman - please take a look at the notice on #1373 as it contains important information about your resources and the switch to the new Content Management System. Many thanks! Vicky
