Have you considered using Deno for Bookshop instead of Node.js? My understanding is that Deno intentionally broke compatibility with the Node.js ecosystem, but then started walking that back and is making it easier to interoperate. I'm very unfamiliar with the Javascript ecosystem, so it's not clear to me how hard it would be to switch to Deno, if this is something an end-user could do, or if it would require you to build everything completely differently.
It's also unclear to me if Deno is in fact equivalent to Node.js for your purposes, so I apologize if this is a stupid question.
