How to change refresh rate to 120hz? #963
Comments
Hi, Here you can find a commit from me on how to load a custom edid via chimeraos. Here would be an edid editor: and the file is, depending on the port on your system, here: /sys/class/drm/card1-HDMI-1/edid I wish you much success! |
So it requires to build own image? Maybe i'll try to buy DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter. And what does "Firmaware overrides dsdt edid" in advaced options do? It's so weird. I installed Chimera OS and connected it via DisplayPort to my 165Hz monitor, and everything was working great. Then, I connected an HDMI cable to my TV. In this scenario, I was able to set the TV screen to 120Hz, but the colors were faded, and I could only play GTA Vice City, other games wouldn't start at all in Steam game mode. Games like Assassin's Creed I could only play in desktop mode. Dirt showdown wont start in game mode and also in desktop mode until i plug out monitor connected by display port so I decided to reinstall the system without the DisplayPort plugged in. In this scenario, the colors are great, but I can't use 120Hz. And the games still won't run correctly in game mode. So, I guess it's an EDID or HDMI issue because everything works great when the 165Hz monitor is connected via DisplayPort. I don't know what to do. Building my own image seems like overkill. I think I'll try to buy a DP Port to HDMI adapter. |
Which TV is this exactly? |
It's TCL 65QLED870, gpu rx 6800 xt. |
I've got this thing to work by connecting to a different port. But now all games are crashing with this error: "pid 100934 != 10933, skipping destruction (fork without exec?)" Has anyone had this? |
do you try to use 4k at 120hz and HDR? there are some reports of failure at reddit with pushing more than 40gbit of data through the hdmi 2.1 port. |
