Use a tool like Joyride to give users some hints on where to query. In particularly, helpful for the "Advanced Search" pane and also pointing-out the Grid (which is easy to miss).

Great! We saw in the CUTGroup test a need for assistance when searching. Testers were very interested in seeing sample searches for both the quick and advanced search functionality.

We also saw that testers thought they could use both the quick search and the advanced search to complete one type of search. An example is a tester would write an address in quick search and then add datasets in the advanced search panel. My recommendation is to add tips that clarify that these are different functionalities and how people could use them.

Additional notes form Sonja from another issue opened:
...changing the color and making the arrow more prominent would help a lot. Currently, the color matches the browser color and the arrow is in the far corner. My recommendation is to make this bar a little larger, change it to a brighter color and put the arrow in the middle.

In addition to the above, we need to make the gridview more prominent.

Should the prominence of grid view be a different issue?

@tomschenkjr you mentioned the prominence of grid view when you first opened this issue so I figured you wanted to keep them together. I'll open a new one since you prefer.
