What does the "Bridge" really represent? #271

We refer to the relayer as the bridge since without it there would be no transfer functionality, only contracts deployed on separate chains unable to communicate with each other. The relayer plays the role of the intermediary between these contracts by receiving the events that the contracts emit on one chain and triggering a corresponding action on the opposite chain.

Confusingly, "Bridge" is sometimes used interchangeably in conversation to refer to the bridge contract and/or pallet.
