Terms of use

COL needs a terms of use statement. Especially if we want to make use of personal information, e.g. a user name placed in DOI metadata. See https://www.gbif.org/terms for references to copy/base on.

Do we need to cover any of this in terms specifically?

• keeping people names, orcids and email in metadata
• issuing a DOI for datasets & releases with people names
• using the GBIF account for login and storing download information

This presumably includes:

• COL commitments regarding data published to ChecklistBank and potentially used in COL - where will it go? will be personal personal information be shared?
• COL commitments to users who visit, search or register at the COL site - what we track and what will be kept in cookies, databases, etc.
