eAcks stand for e-Acknowledgements and are the digital way for Advancement to say thank you for a gift via email. Currently, many donors are receiving three e-Acknowledgements after they donate. The first email comes automatically very shortly after donating to the website and includes some general CU branding and a nice CU general message. The second email comes a few days to a week later and is sent for the donor's records for tax purposes. Then a third email is sometimes requested by a CU department that would like to personalize the thank you with images of their campus/school and custom salutations or other tags that define the donation and the fund. It would be ideal to cut the eAcks down to max 2 emails (1 would be more ideal, but we'd have to better understand why Gift Processing is sending separate emails for thank you and tax purposes.)

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Meet with Gift Processing to better understand why there are two emails that auto-generate but are sent within days of each other after the donation
  • Audit the number of campus/schools/depts currently sending eAcks
  • Develop a streamlined and somewhat customizable thank you message that is auto-generated after the gift is made online
