create a generic config model which uses rules passed to it on creation to handle individual key, vaule pairs.

for instance:
(int_key, '1') could be matched by the key and handled by setting the value to it's integer equivalent resulting in (int_key, 1)

it must:

  • take a dictionary or list of 2 item tuples (as items() from a dict would return)
  • have a get(key, default=None) method which returns default if there is no matching key
  • have an add(key, value) method which will serve to add and update the config values
  • poke the control interface to write changes upon altering its values
