I wondered if anyone had looked at info-orbs https://github.com/brettdottech/info-orbs it's an open source esp32 based project, that sells a kit for $60, but has all the info to make you own boards and put together for less and $30 if you make 4 or 5 of them. It looks like this would be an awesome fork/addition to this project, replace the Nextion (UART-based smart TFT module) to an SPI-based TFT esphome variant. Could show nice gages of power usage, weather, temps inside/outside/work, The board could easily be modified to allow more buttons, motion/human presence sensor, different displays.
