I am mildly insane. As such, I don't use grabber for its intended purpose (convenient grabbing of large batches of images), but rather as an alternative front-end to boorus, as most boorus have terrible and often changing interfaces. Grabber as-is is ALMOST perfect for this use, with two exceptions.
I would like to be able to middle-click to open the preview window for an image/video in a tab, as you would in a browser. This would allow me to click several I like as I encounter them, preload them, and then flip through them all quickly, rather than clicking one at a time and waiting for each to load like it's 1998. I recognize this is a nonsensical feature for Grabber's main intended use case, but it seems like a fairly simple feature to add, and would dramatically improve the program's usefulness to me.
Because boorus are constantly purging images for various reasons, I back up what I like on a local Hydrus booru. In order to make importing easy, on image save I need a txt file generated for each image saved, named the same as the image. The contents have no special formatting, just a direct copy of the tag list, one tag per line. I can then dump this pile of images and corresponding tag files into hydrus periodically and have everything auto-tagged. I currently have a browser plugin for saving and generating these files when browsing boorus, but it would be immensely helpful to be able to do this via one keystroke from the preview window in Grabber. I realize this may be a bit more esoteric, but thought I'd ask. If this is already possible, or partly possible, by all means point me in the right direction.
If I could get these two features, I would never have to touch another booru directly ever again.
