Application Insights custom logging

When working with stateless logic apps it is helpful to be able to send messages into application insights to view error messages and other information about the execution of the logic app. Typically when writing a web app, we log information into log analytics or a log file to query out at a later time for understand issues or the results of execution.

I wasn't able to find any connectors that would allow for sending custom logging messages into application insights or log analytics.

A few use cases that we had for this:

1. One use case we have is that we hosted stateless logic app that queried a third-party service over HTTP. The service would respond with different messages when an error occurred. For security, we implemented conditional logic that returned an error code that we would understand but wouldn't reveal the inner message. It would have been helpful in this situation to log the errors coming back from the service into the logs, so that we could query out how often they were happening and trace them.
2. In a similar scenario to number 1, we may have forgotten to handle a specific error scenario. In this case, since we are hiding the inner implementation it would default to 500 with an "unexpected error occurred". It would be helpful to log the information coming back from the third-party service, so we could see what the message actually was when the unexpected error occurred.
