Compress side bar recent posts section

I've been noticing that, in a lot of cases, for laptop size screens, the article sidebar is a bit big and the third and sometimes second most recent post are cutoff. This is especially the case with columns because the sidebar has a photo.

Can we reduce the font size a bit to save some space? Or maybe find a way to have the social stuff compressed into one line?
