I recently adopted a cat from this local animal shelter in our area and it’s my first time owning a pet. My friend said that I should have it implanted with a microchip for identification purposes just in case it gets stolen or lost. She even recommended this clinic with vets Chichester based that can help with this. It seems like a good idea, but I’d love to know more about pet microchips first before pushing through with it. If anyone’s tried it before, I’d appreciate if you can tell me its pros and cons. Thanks!

If your pup gets scared of thunderstorms, know that they're not alone, as this fear impacts up to 30% of dogs. Where does dog storm anxiety come from? The answer isn’t clear-cut. One theory is that thunderstorms can trigger dogs with noise phobia, so loud thunder can cause anxiety — in fact, dogs can hear low-frequency rumbles before humans. Some vets think that dogs get uncomfortable shocks from static electricity buildup. Ultimately, different parts of a thunderstorm can cause fear in different dogs

The cough may sound like honking, and some dogs gag at the end. You should see your veterinarian if your dog isn’t eating, has a fever, has been coughing more than 10 days, is lethargic or coughing up white foamy material. This may indicate that your pup has a severe case that requires treatment, or may have developed pneumonia.

How old is your dog? Maybe it was born four years ago. At that age, a human would still be a kid. Your dog, however, acts like an adult. You might have heard that to get a dog’s “biological” age, just multiply its age in years by seven. That would make your dog equivalent to a 28-year-old human. But that would probably be wrong, a new study shows. Your dog’s actually more like a 53-year-old human.
