UI was very slow and eventually stopped working - Switching to Chrome Saved Me #1559

I just had an experience where the UI was at first very slow for the past several days. For instance, it would take several seconds to respond to me clicking on a button or editing an input box. It was extremely painful to use it. Then the next time I loaded it, it flashed the UI (ex. the Augur logo and some of the headers), and then the screen went blank. Over ten minutes later, the UI still refused to load.

I was using Firefox and a Custom RPC.

I tried rebooting the desktop pc (Windows 10), restarting Firefox, reconnecting my hardware wallet, reconnecting my Metamask account, turning my IPFS desktop on/off, and even the 1.5.1 UI - nothing worked.

What worked was using Chrome. I did a new Metamask install and imported my wallet. It ran super smooth. Literally 3 times faster than Firefox or more.

I'm not sure if this is a Chrome vs Firefox issue, or if I could have solved this by refreshing my Firefox cache. But I think figuring this out and either learning how to fix it or sharing the solution (assuming it continues to work) could be extremely useful to users!

Someone should also try emptying their cache and seeing if that works.

Firefox has this error which doesn't occur in Chrome:
DOMException: The quota has been exceeded. react-dom.production.min.js:216:199
