Admitted, i play this game way too often.
But today i got the idea to incorporate the timekeeping aspect of our endeavor into the game to make it even more Asteroidish.
I would love to have a timer that (only) runs while the game is active and a game is started.
This way advanced players could easily find a new challenge without spending hours to reach 4096 and beyond.
For that, i would propose a "highscores" page with a link to it when clicked on the current highscore display.
On that highscore page, best times to reach 512, 1024, 2048 and 4096 are shown in addition to the best score.

Game play recording, in a custom format that stores each move and rng placed tile. And can play recordings back in the app. This could be most useful for an "Action Replay" feature that repeats the last, say 10 steps.
Combo mode was already proposed in the past. The aspects here are that it would drive the gameplay away from the original game idea a bit since goal would be to maximize the score. Fancy animations when merging a comobo could add a more vivid touch to the game. Imho if implemented, the combo mode should be optional and non-standard when stating up a the app. But should persist for the next games until deactivated.
