BAM existence is checked even when they are not needed

I moved a serialized metagene2 object from one computer to the next. I wanted to apply a region_filter, and thus called bin_coverages. No recalculation of coverages was needed, and yet, the operation failed with an error since the BAM files could not be found.

It is an inconvenient edge-case.
