Are we using Github for the code running Appropedia?

Lonny, this is a work in progress. Obviously Appropedia's main code is Mediawiki itself, which is third-party software and so we wouldn't include it in our own Github repo. However, there are certain modifications and special bits and pieces which we should be keeping in our own version control. These include our settings (LocalSettings.php) and various scripts and whatnot. However, before putting them in github, we need to extract any private/secure information such as database passwords etc. This is part of the work I'm doing at present, along with getting the staging server up and running again.

Got it. So we will be using github as a public repository?

Is there any reason why we shouldn't, as long as we extract secure info
like passwords?

Nope. I like public. As long as we have a sound way to push and pull code that does not expose passwords.

Thanks.
