Setting the system default font

I wrote this in css to set the font:

* {
font-family: system-ui;
}

Then the default font was set using gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface font-name "Source Han Sans CN 11", but in the end it didn't take effect.

I see, not setting this font-family property is using the system default font.
