Feature request: launch local applications

Is it possible for "oh-my-desk" to launch local applications? like word or gimp or a password manager?

I know that it is possible because electron supply shell method.

But I won't make it unless there's a special reason. Because I think that it is beyond the scope of a web widget.

Have you thought to make this app more than a web widget? I think this is a great app with a lot of potential. I use Linux and Windows. This app can make the change between OS a lot more friendly. If I can have the same profile on every computer, taht would be awesome!
I hope you will consider. If you don't mind, I'd like to learn more about Electron by forking your app and doing some redesign and add some feature.

Thank you for your think well potential of oh-my-desk.

But I won't make it unless there's a special reason. Because I think that it is beyond the scope of a web widget.

It means that extend feature except of web widget doesn't have high priority. So I wasn't thinking about it. Because current oh-my-desk(v1.1.2) has many problem to improve. We focus on about Stability and usability improvements(UI/UX improvements) now.

If extend feature about out of range web widget, It may be awesome!
But current oh-my-desk(v1.1.2) has many problem to improve.

First, We don't open widget only using keyboard. If you want to open widget, you use mouse click in oh-my-desk setting window. So, we prepare feature that open widget using hotkey of keyboard.
Second, Application doesn't has feature about update. If oh-my-desk release new version, user must delete current version and re-download oh-my-desk. It is terrible!
Third, new window link doesn't active in web widget when click it. It will be fixed.
Another issue is remained. I upload our overview about oh-my-desk v2.0.0. It is part of new feature. Show This

As described above, I think that oh-my-desk has many problem about only web widget part.
I will fix continuously. But Other part of feature(like open local application or another new feature) have low priority.

Show our overview of v2.0.0 and you describe us about feature of launch local applications or tell us that why do you need this feature. We don't have milestone after v2.0.0. But We will make it. And Then We register this feature in milestone.

I think that v2.0.0 will be released in middle of November or late November. Perhaps Making milestone is late than release and Making feature is more late it.

If you contribute our repository to add feature, It may be after than release v2.0.0. Because we have many breaking change from v1.1.2 to v2.0.0 😢. If you don't want to wait it, you can fork this repository and make feature, release another app! I'm truly honored and delighted to create another application based on oh-my-desk.
