A step by step guide to migrating your assets from Acala-Specific Ledger App to Polkadot-Generic Ledger App using the Polkadot Migration App. This is primarily for Acala asset holders pre-runtime 2270 |
- Ensure that your Ledger device is updated to the latest firmware and that you have the follow apps installed: Acala, Polkadot (DOT), Polkadot Migration.
- Ensure you have a Ledger Acala account and a Ledger Polkadot Account imported into your Polkadot Js. If you don’t have one, click the + button on the top right corner followed by “attach ledger account”
- Go to the Acala Platform and connect your Acala Ledger account. Be sure to update the metadata when prompted.
- Once connected, make sure that your Polkadot.js settings are set to “Ledger Migration App”, and that all the accounts are connected to the Acala Platform
- Open the DOT Migration App on your Ledger, review the details and activate the app.
- Go to the your portfolio page and click transfer on the asset you wish to transfer. Click the drop down menu and select your Polkadot Generic account as the receiver. If the account doesn’t show up as an option, it is likely due to the account not being connected to the platform (step 4).
- Input the amount tokens you wish to send and sign the transaction with your Ledger device.
- Done! Your funds are now sent to your Polkadot Generic app. You can check the funds by changing your account and revising the portfolio page.
