Scala 2.13 is a current release, while 2.12 is on maintenance. We has started receiving regular suggestions from GitHub dependancy bot and Snyk to upgrade to Scala 2.13. It also brings both compile time and runtime performance benefits and closes the technology gap with modern Scala API / standard library.
