Current behavior

At the moment the automatic app installer can only be used when there are no apps installed yet, and the list provided is automatically determined by version, platform etc.

Wish

• Ability to specify blacklist / whitelist to ensure only specific Apps are installed
  • System to configure this
  • System to place the configuration on the file-system
  • API to provide configuration to UI
  • Hand-over to app-catalog which provides the UI to select apps
  • Respect the settings in the new app-selector
    • forbid-all except listed f all
    • forbid specific app f with specific GUIDs
    • allow specific app a with specific GUIDs
    • require specific apps r with specific GUIDs
    • Secondary optional apps which are not auto-selected o with specific GUID
• Ability to use the dialog again later on, and only get suggestions which are not yet installed
  • Ability to call the app-install dialog again after already installing things
  • Backend APIs to provide list of already installed apps
  • UI should be able to request already installed apps
  • UI should respect already-installed apps and not allow selection...
  • ...but indicate why it's not available
