known issue that's been around since when custom backgrounds were implemented. this isn't a duplicate tho, I don't think

If your case is Android then it still able to implement one to read through Lua's file IO (not through Love2D's file API, but it may dangerous)
But iOS: eh never and never (hard limitation)
